2014 ICWL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
SUNDAY, MARCH 9, 2014 AT COMPETITIVE EDGE, KING OF PRUSSIA
AWARDS: Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in each weight class. Tournament shirts for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.
WEIGH-INS: Weigh-ins will be held a week before the tournament, on Thursday and Friday evening, February 27 and 28, and during the day Saturday and Sunday March 1 and 2. All times and locations around the league will be posted on: www.conestogawrestling.com and on the ICWL website www.intercountywrestlingleague.org.
WEIGHT CLASSES: Modified Madison System. Exact weights will be recorded at weigh-ins INCLUDING whatever is being worn, therefore all wrestlers should weigh in wearing just a singlet or underwear, and no one will be permitted to weigh in naked. A two-tenths of a pound allowance for clothing will be given, so, for example, the wrestler “made weight” for Junior 62 if the scale weight was “62.2” or less. Since some weigh-ins are occurring along with weigh-ins for other tournaments where exact weights are not recorded make sure at the scale that you announce you are weighing in for the ICWL Tournament so that exact weight is recorded. We use the weight classes listed in the entry, adjusting by adding in classes as needed using exact weights to keep the size of weight classes to 16 or less, so the wrestler may end up in a class slightly higher or lower than the selected weight. For example, in the Junior Division the weight classes that might result could be 58, 62, 66, 69, 71, 73.5, 75.5, 78, 81.5, 84.5, 88.5, 92, 96.5, 100, 105, 115, 130, 189. If over the weight for a weight class not affected by the Madison adjustments, we will move the wrestler to next weight class, therefore there will be no “failures to make weight”. A wrestler may come to the scale additional times during a weigh-in, each time the weight will be recorded and the lowest weight will be used. A wrestler may not go to a second weigh-in at a different location or day.
LOCATION: Competitive Edge, located at 320 S. Henderson Road, King of Prussia, 19406. Directions on their website: www.cesports.net under the “Contact Us” tab. We will be posting parking information on our website, www.conestogawrestling.com and on the ICWL website. You must park only in designated areas. Shuttle vans from remote parking lots. No outside food permitted. No smoking is permitted in the building. Wear shoes that will not damage the hardwood basketball floor or the mats. Because of remote parking allow enough time to arrive for your match.
SEEDING: BY ICWL seeding committee. Complete and accurate seeding information is required so entries will be disqualified for false or misleading information and may be rejected if none is supplied.
RULES/ELIGIBILITY: This is not an “OPEN” tournament and is limited to ICWL team members in good standing on the roster as certified by the team. Modified PIAA rules. Headgear required. Team singlet required with exception for middle school wrestlers who may wear their school singlet. Bout length 1-1-1 except Intermediate which is 1- 1½ - 1 ½. Overtime: 60-second sudden victory, then 30-second ride-out. Full double-elimination.
