THIS IS FOR TRUE FIRST YEAR WRESTLERS ONLY. IF YOU HAVE HAD ANY PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE INCLUDING JUST PRACTICING, REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY YEARS IT HAS BEEN, YOU ARE INELIGIBLE FOR THIS TOURNAMENT.  WE DO CHECK PREVIOUS YEARS ROSTERS TO CONFIRM ELIGIBILITY.

 

**TOURNAMENT MAXIMUM – 650 WRESTLERS**

 

AWARDS: 
Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in each weight class.

 

WEIGH-INS: 
Weigh-ins will be held before the tournament, on Thursday and Friday evening, February 13 and 14. All times and locations around the league will be posted on ICWL website.

WEIGHT CLASSES: 
Modified Madison System. Exact weights will be recorded at weigh-ins INCLUDING whatever is being worn, therefore all wrestlers should weigh in wearing just a singlet, or underwear, and no one will be permitted to weigh in naked. 

A wrestler may come to the scale additional times during a weigh-in, each time the weight will be recorded, and the lowest weight will be used.

A wrestler may not go to a second weigh-in at a different location or day.

 

NOVICE DIVISIONS AGE GROUPS

Pee Wee:(Born in 2018 - after)

Bantam: (Born in 2016 - 2017) 
Midget: (Born in 2014 - 2015) 
Junior: (Born in 2012 - 2013)

No smoking is permitted in the building or on school grounds.
Wear shoes that will not damage the floor or the mats (NO HEELS).

 

START TIME:  (UPDATED 2/10)
Split Schedule (FINAL)

Midget and Bantam start at 8:30

PeeWee and Junior arrive at 11:30. Wrestling will commence upon the completion of the earlier session.

 

RULES/ELIGIBILITY: 

  • This is not an “OPEN” tournament and is limited to ICWL team members in good standing on the roster as certified by the team and holding a valid USA Wrestling Membership
  • Modified PIAA rules 
  • Headgear required
  • No long sleeve under shirts
  • Team singlet or two-piece uniform – all in team logo/color required with exception for middle school wrestlers who may wear their Middle school singlet.
  • Shoelaces velcroed or taped
  • Mouth guard required if you have braces
  • Bout length 1-1-1
  • Overtime: 60-second sudden victory, then 30-second ride-out.
  • Full double-elimination.

ALL questions must be directed to your team head coach or league rep. If they are unable to answer your question directly, they will reach out to the board and/or tournament director themselves.

Emails to the tournament director will not be answered unless sent by a coach or league rep. 

 

ADMISSIONS:

Adults & Coaches: $10.00 (Kids 16 & under free)

Programs: $2

Food & beverages available all day

 

ENTRY: 
Fee is $35.00 paid online.   Wrestlers on a team that pays for them to enter will have a $0 fee.

 

Deadline for registration is 650 wrestlers OR Friday, February 7 at 3:30pm. REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE AT THIS TIME AND THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS. 

 

The list of wrestlers registered will be posted on the ICWL website here

 

IF A WRESTLER IS NOT ON THE REGISTRATION LIST, THEY ARE NOT REGISTERED.

 

Upon completion of your registration, you will receive a confirmation email. If you don't receive that email, you are not registered. 

Any claim that a wrestler did enter and weigh in but is not on the official list must be brought to the attention of your head coach or league rep, they have until Saturday February 15 at 4:00 PM to notify the Tournament Director. 

 

Following the completion of weigh-ins, the official final list of entries will be posted on TrackWrestling (www.trackwrestling.com / search for "ICWL Novice") website on Saturday February 15.
